Happy New Year!

I've had a fantastic Christmas and New Year with my family and I hope you did too.

Here is a little taste of what we got up to.....

We held a disco themed New Years Eve party here in France and with 16 family members coming from the UK, Farmor and Farfar from Sweden and the 4 of us.   We had a very busy house but perfect for us because I could look after the children (with lots of help from relatives) whilst still enjoying a fantastic party with my family!

The festivities lasted for 3 days and we loved every minute of it.

We did lots of preparation in order to turn the house into a permanent disco for 72 hours starting with the creation of some spray painted disco welcome packs.

I think it's funny that the '2011' on my template came out looking like '3811' - I guess we could reuse them in the very distant future?

We installed a disco ball and laser show in true disco fashion.....

And we swapped the taps and shower heads for funky LED light fittings that change colour depending on the temperature of the water.....

My husband swapped the down lights for colour changing disco spotlights....

For the actual party we brought out a bag of roller skates to make a roller disco and it was the best fun EVER.  I don't have any pictures of that or the actual party as I thought my camera had broken.

By the time I realised it was just me trying to put the battery in backwards I was just in time to randomly photograph someone in an inflatable sumo-suit sitting on our couch.

And then finally the last man standing (well sitting actually).

The best thing about the party other than hanging out with my fabulous family is that all disco equipment is still in use daily.  In fact the down lights are on permanent disco duty (we are unable to switch back to white light all the while they are installed), and it is quite disconcerting watching your dinner change colour while you eat.

Long live disco fever!
