Outdoor bath bucket

We may have left our favouirte bath bucket at home in France but we found a replacement!

Isn't it funny that Freddy (30 months) had been refusing to have a bath or shower for a while but as soon as I suggested a bath in a bucket, outside with a few toy cars thrown in the bottom he was more than willing.
You can also see that Henry (9 months) was immediately drawn to the water and he tried squeezing himself in as soon as I had taken the photo.

Incidentally, we have started adding oat flour to all of Freddy's baths in order to relieve some of the horrible discomfort from eczema, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.  Really, I urge you to try it if your little one is suffering, and I'd love to hear any other suggestions that you might have to try to calm itching skin naturally.

  1. Sweet memories, bathing or showering outside! Until the age of 10 or 12 (then in bathing suits) I remember taking showers from the water-hose in the garden, it had been carefully put in the sun all day to give us a tiny bit of warmish water in the evening. And then how delightfully cold it became and there we went shrieking and running around having a lot of fun!
I am not surprised Freddy jumped on the occasion for a bath outdoors ^^ and the bucket you got is great.

I am curious about this oat flour-thing that you mention (unfortunately my baby is starting to have some eczema and one of brothers has a pretty bad one too) - can you explain further what you use/how and how the bath looks like with flour inside?

    1. Hi Fred!
When I read your comment I was immediately reminded of the same story that my husband had told me. The warmed up water hose was something he and his siblings looked forward too!
I'm really sorry to hear that you are seeing signs of eczema with your baby. I will indeed tell you more about the oat bath (and I have discovered a few other things that might help too). I'll put them all in a post in the next few days just for you.
      xx
