Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Birthday!

It’s been a year since I last posted on my blog and I can't quite believe it. I've wanted to restart again for such a long time but I've been lacking mojo. I don't quite know what happened but a lot has changed for us... too much to say in one post and I think that has been the problem: I keep thinking “how can I explain everything in one blog post?” Well I have decided not even o worry about it and just get back to blogging. Over time you will find out about all the changes that have happened to our family and hopefully that way I’ll slip back into blogging with ease.....

But I cannot start up again without saying a lot of thank yous! I have been astounded at the number of emails and messages that I have received checking that everything is ok and making sure that I start writing again. A lovely lady even contacted though my Etsy shop to say that she still looked at my blog regularly hoping that I had updated it. This post and all the rest that follow are for you all!

Did you have a good Christmas and New Year? Is it too late to talk about these things in blogging land? Is it too late even to post a picture of a Christmas tree???? Well I’m just going to go for it....

Our lovely tree went up in November and by Christmas day it barely had any green left on it - even brushing past it gently resulted in an avalanche of needles.

Then there was Freddy’s Birthday! Here he is with Henry who had just split his forehead open on a step coming into our house (goodbye baby modelling dreams).

Freddy is 4 now and Henry turned 2 in September! Did I mention that another little bundle of joy will be joining us very soon?

This pregnancy has been difficult for me emotionally and physically but the end is in sight and I’m getting happier by the day.... more on that later.

So thank you again for your patience and kind words. Here is to a new year of love and happiness. x

  1. Welcome back to the blogging world my dear Rachael. I am so happy to see you worked up the courage to write again. I know exactly how you feel - it was hard for me as well to get back to it after a very long break. But giving birth to Victoire gave me the encouragement I needed!
    Here's to many informative/touching/practical/interesting/lovely posts!

ps: Freddy is so handsome! Henry! I thought it was an old Halloween picture. :(

    1. You are so sweet Deb. I hope I stick with the posting this time.

  2. Welcome back! I was thinking of you and your blog just last night and decided to have a look today! What a great surprise to see you back!!!! And many congratulations on your pregnancy! when is n°3 expected?

    1. Thanks Fred! I actually thought about you a little while ago too and it was one of the reasons I got back to writing! No3 due in 4 weeks! (omg). And how about your little one? How are things?

    2. Four weeks? WOAW! All the best!!
On my side everything's fine. My n°2 is very different from his older sister. We are currently going through a very important phase with N. : she is potty-training! She has also stopped napping at all during the day. T. is now a year old, almost 13mo actually. Speaking a little more every day, practicing walking and enjoying his sister's company. They are starting to play a lot together. They also fight a lot... normal I suppose. I did with my siblings too ;)
Kindergarten maybe in September for N. after she turns 3. And for myself, still staying home, doing some sewing, trying to do some online learning but not being hugely successful mostly because of my lack of energy and time!
Can't wait to hear more about what happened to you in the last months. Are you still in France? xx

    3. PS I think you are brave to consider getting back to blogging with Baby 3 coming soon! I hope you will find some time for us, your reader. But at the same time I am pretty sure non of us will blame you if you are long without posting again ^^

    4. Oh wow! potty training - such a milestone!
Thats great that they are starting to play together - mine fight more than play but when you see those little glimpses of friendship its really rewarding!
Have you heard about RIE and Janet Lansbury? She has some interesting techniques to help to teach siblings to get along. I'm going to start trying the technique next week to see what happens.
I hear you with the lack of energy and time - its tough at this age for sure.
We are still in France and heading back to the UK next month for a while. This year will include a lot of adventures for us including a nice long stretch in Sweden over the summer months :)

    5. I cannot say that I have heard of RIE and J. Lansbury, will have a look. I am always interested in reading new things :)
Update us on your blog on how it works with your boys!

  3. So glad you comeback. I hope your little one is OK now and congratulations for the new baby! I will continue reading the next post, bye.
